Mole mapping basics
Mole mapping is a comprehensive skin imaging service that uses high-resolution photography and dermoscopic imaging to record and monitor your moles over time. It supports early detection of subtle changes that may indicate skin cancers like melanoma.
No referral is required. You can book directly with the clinic.
Mole mapping is a non-OHIP covered service. Receipts are available for submission to private insurance.
During the appointment
No. Mole mapping is non-invasive — it uses photography and a handheld dermoscope. There are no needles or cuts.
Most appointments take approximately 30–60 minutes depending on the number of moles to be imaged.
You will be asked to expose the areas being imaged. Privacy and comfort are prioritized; gowns and drapes are provided.
After the appointment
Images are stored securely as part of your confidential medical record and used to compare against future visits.
An annual visit is generally recommended for ongoing monitoring; your provider may suggest a different interval based on your skin.
Dr. Baath will discuss findings with you and recommend next steps, which may include further assessment or referral.
