The following medically necessary dermatology conditions are billed directly to OHIP for eligible Ontario residents.

Acne

All grades, including cystic and hormonal acne

Rosacea

Flushing, papulopustular, and phymatous subtypes

Psoriasis

Plaque, guttate, and scalp variants

Eczema / Dermatitis

Atopic, contact, and seborrheic dermatitis

Alopecia

Including alopecia areata and other hair loss conditions

Skin cancer

Melanoma, basal cell, squamous cell carcinoma

Actinic keratosis

Pre-cancerous lesions from UV exposure

Skin lesions & mole assessment

Clinically indicated evaluation of lesions

Warts

Common, plantar, and filiform warts

Vitiligo

Assessment and management of pigment loss

Rashes

Unexplained or persistent skin rashes

Seborrheic dermatitis

Scalp, face, and body variants

Coverage is determined by OHIP based on medical necessity. Cosmetic procedures and preventative services such as mole mapping are not covered. If you're unsure whether your concern qualifies, speak with your family doctor.

Bring your health card. The visit is billed directly to OHIP — no cost to you.

Yes. OHIP-covered dermatology visits require a referral from a family physician or nurse practitioner. Once received, our team will contact you to schedule.

Wait times vary. Our team will contact you after the referral is received to discuss scheduling. For urgent concerns, please indicate this on the referral.

Some services — such as cosmetic procedures and preventative mole mapping — are not OHIP-covered. We will always let you know before proceeding with any non-covered service.

OHIP covers Ontario residents. Patients from other provinces may be covered through reciprocal billing agreements — please contact the clinic to confirm before booking.
